First REAL Snow Day!!

It snowed really good for about an hour. Cassidy couldn't wait to go out and play. She wanted to make a snow angel and a snowman, thankfully there was not enough snow for a snow man because her mom only likes to look at snow through a window from a warm house! Brrr....
Cassidy LOVES the snow. She will wander around for hours. Stops and looks at her "traps" (tracks). Then wanders around some more. Occasionally she will scoop up snow and eat it as she walks.. Seiously, whose child is this??

Here is her beautiful snow angel! She did pretty well if you ask me!

Christmas Crazy Dad!!

Rod went nuts with the lights this year! Cassidy loves it and we have to keep our blinds open all night so we can see them! It really is pretty to have all of the colors. If we would have had more extension cords we would have ALL of the tree's covered in lights! I swear you can see our house from 3 miles away!

Thanksgiving..

Thanksgiving was a blast! It was our 'off' year to have dinner at the in-laws, and since my family is not the big turkey dinner type, we spent this years Thanksgiving Day with our best friends and their family!
They always put on a production for everything they do! It makes it so much fun. We had a gobbling contest, Cassidy even gobbled! We played musical chairs, and it was competitive! We made a craft and visited and enjoyed their company. It was a really nice day. I wish I would have had my camera to share the pictures.. Jeremy falling on his rear as Danny pulled the chair out from underneath him so he could win musical chairs.. Rod Jumping over the line of Chairs just to ensure he got a place to sit. It was all great! I haven't laughed so hard in a long time!
Anyway, I am grateful to be surrounded by such good friends. I am thankful for our families, and all of their quirks, it makes life much more interesting. But most of all I am thankful for my parents. All they have done and do for us on a daily basis, there is no one like them, and I hope one day I can be as selfless, giving and loving as they are!
And, last but not least, I am so blessed, and thankful for my little family. I would be lost with out them!
Happy Turkey Day!

8 Years and Counting..

Today is our anniversary.. I am not a big "lets celebrate" for anniversaries, V Day etc.. (Although I do enjoy putting on birthday parties..) However, I do appreciate how hard my sweetheart works for our little family. I have never enjoyed being around someone as much as I do Rod.. And never expected my life to turn out so well and complete! How lucky am I?? Thanks Darlin!

4 Weeks Old!!

The Pups are already 4 weeks old! They are growing into 'Schnauzers' and are just darling! Check 'em out! carterscanines.blogspot.com

Obama Won.. So we bought a Gun..

Yes, it is true. It came with 2- 17 round magazines, which soon you will not be able to buy. I don't really like how it shoots, I still prefer my 9mm revolver. But Rod LOVES it and is very pleased with his purchase.
We enjoy target shooting on a regular basis. Cassidy likes to put the empty casings back. She has just as much fun playing in the back of the truck as she does shooting!

It is disappointing that people who enjoy recreational shooting do not know how to pick up after themselves! PACK IT IN PACK IT OUT!!! Seriously, we couldn't believe the junk people left behind. We picked up as much as we could fit in our bags..

Here is sis modeling her 'earrings' that's what she calls the earplugs! At least she keeps them in!
It is no secret Rod and I were not fans of either of the presidential candidates, we voted for the one that we HOPED would protect our interests the most. I hope you all did the same!
The NRA goes the extra mile to help protect our rights as Americans, it doesn't make sense to control guns for law abiding citizens when the people who misuse them will still obtain and use them illegally..

Itsy Bitys Spider...

Here we have our trick or treating clan! Hadlie, Tyson, Davis, Cole & Rhett.. And Cassidy. The little town we live in does a good job of getting the community to participate in these holiday activities. And they really turn out SO fun! Cassidy made it about half way through the circle of trunks and told her dad "she had enough candy now.." Is there such a thing??
Here she was being a JUMPING spider.. I guess they growl..
Here is our whole group. We went trick or treating and then Kevin & Shareen invited us back to their house for some home made chili and corn bread! MMM.. MMM.. YUM!!
Cassidy's costume was really cute. The legs were all connected and then connected to her arms so when ever she moved her arms they all moved!

Pre-School Halloween Party..

Cassidy's school had a fun trunk or treat. The kids all dressed up in their costumes, and the parents backed into the little parking area and the kids came in shifts. There were some really cute little costumes! The reason you see a picture of Cassidy SMILING is because when her group came out, I hid.. That's right.. I HID! So she wouldn't see me and participate instead of cling to me!
Here is her whole class. The princess in the back is Miss Candy, she is Cassidy's favorite teacher. Cassidy says she is 'like Jani, huh mom'.. So she MUST be special!
Here we are, sis not smiling.. Although, she was quite excited to see me dressed up! She kept calling me 'cowboy' in a low voice.. It was hilarious!
Here is Shar and her two boys! Cassidy loves playing with her cousins.. And they really help her be more.. uh.. normal??

Thornton Halloween Party..

My friend Brittany throws a BIG shin dig every Halloween! Both sides of her family come and they carve pumpkins, play games and do crafts. This year we also got to go on pony rides! It was fun!
The kids all dressed up and they were all adorable!

Cassidy was a spider..

Ryann was Dorthoy..
She handed the reins over to Rod and I KNEW we were in trouble! Dewy is such a cute pony. He has the quickest little trot! It was fun to go for a ride!

The neighbors cat was checking out Brittany's hat! It looked like the perfect Halloween picture!

Annual Pumpkin Carving Night..

For the past few years we have a tradition to go to the pumpkin patch with our good friends the Hardy's. We pick out the perfect pumpkins, take them home and carve them while the guys watch T.V.
Cassidy was so excited that we were going and talked about it all day.. She fell asleep in the car on the way there, and didn't even wake up for the tractor ride out to the pumpkin patch!
Since she is such a bundle of joy when she wakes up anyway, we couldn't get her to pick out a pumpkin. So we picked out the ones we wanted and rode the tractor back. She was happy to be awake for that!

This is Cannon Hardy, he is almost a year old and such a sweet baby!

Cannon is helping Jer spot the best pumpkins!
There are little stands where we can take pictures and here are the three kids being ghosts. You notice Jack, as always a picture perfect grin, And Cassidy is smiling too, oh wait... No she isn't..
Even though she doesn't look happy, I still think she had fun. I know I did!

Cassidy wanted to carve the pumpkin she picked out from her Pre-School Field trip. She asked for me to carve a C for her, and you can't see the marks, but she pretty much gored the rest of the pumpkin in the spirit of "carving" ..
I had to pick an easy pumpkin design this year. I am such a slow carver, and Lori is the fastest carver in the west! No matter what she chooses to carve she always finishes at least 20 minutes before me! Even though I picked an easy one!

Here is Loris Ghost that says "BOO" and Jacks "j" which is why Cassidy wanted a "C'.

I would say she is not my child, but Rod doesn't like vegetables. So it HAS to come from me.. Seriously?? Eating RAW pumpkin? She ate so much of my top, I finally had to cut her off because I was worried my lid wouldn't hold up!
Here's Jack, smiling as always!
AND the speedy Carver!!
And Sis, who pretty much likes to destroy what ever she can..
All in all it was a really fun night!

While the Cats away.. The Mice will play..

Researching Sires for Ashlie is a pain.. Rod mentioned he might want to keep one of Ash's pups this time.. So while he was hunting I happen to run across this darling little male schnauzer! He is a Phantom Black & Silver. He is SO mellow and sweet.. And I am very impressed with his conformation.
So basically this is our new baby.. (Well besides the 5 puppies Ashlie JUST HAD!) I figured I was not going to be getting sleep anyway, I might as well potty train another pup!

Because Rod and I NEVER make these kind of decisions with out consulting each other, I was completely prepared to resell him if, when he got home he didn't agree with my thinking.. Thankfully he was not mad, and I think he might even like Clancy??

Cassidy just adores him, and it has helped the new pups get a break from all of her 'help'.. He only really wags his tail for her.. It is cute. Ashlie thinks he is one of her pups, and has only growled at him when he gets too close to her kennel with her puppies in it.. He is very smart and I am really glad he joined our little family of now 10 Dogs! (For the moment).. Seriously.. What was I thinking??

Cassidy's New Best Buddy..

I found Cassidy going for a cruise with Clancy. He was all bundled up in a blankie and seat belted in. She was having a blast! It was Darling!
I heard Cassidy just giggling in my bedroom so I went to check on her and this is what I found! Check out the clip. I guess Clancy needs some exercises??

Everybody Loves Clancy!!

Jack has fallen in love with our new puppy! And I am sure our puppy has fallen for him!
Although Jack is the best when it comes to getting him to smile for pictures, occasionally he likes to pull funny faces or pull.. Gang signs?? Here he is with Cassidy copying him..

The following clip is of Clancy kissing Jack..
