Thornton Halloween Party..

My friend Brittany throws a BIG shin dig every Halloween! Both sides of her family come and they carve pumpkins, play games and do crafts. This year we also got to go on pony rides! It was fun!
The kids all dressed up and they were all adorable!

Cassidy was a spider..

Ryann was Dorthoy..
She handed the reins over to Rod and I KNEW we were in trouble! Dewy is such a cute pony. He has the quickest little trot! It was fun to go for a ride!

The neighbors cat was checking out Brittany's hat! It looked like the perfect Halloween picture!

Annual Pumpkin Carving Night..

For the past few years we have a tradition to go to the pumpkin patch with our good friends the Hardy's. We pick out the perfect pumpkins, take them home and carve them while the guys watch T.V.
Cassidy was so excited that we were going and talked about it all day.. She fell asleep in the car on the way there, and didn't even wake up for the tractor ride out to the pumpkin patch!
Since she is such a bundle of joy when she wakes up anyway, we couldn't get her to pick out a pumpkin. So we picked out the ones we wanted and rode the tractor back. She was happy to be awake for that!

This is Cannon Hardy, he is almost a year old and such a sweet baby!

Cannon is helping Jer spot the best pumpkins!
There are little stands where we can take pictures and here are the three kids being ghosts. You notice Jack, as always a picture perfect grin, And Cassidy is smiling too, oh wait... No she isn't..
Even though she doesn't look happy, I still think she had fun. I know I did!

Cassidy wanted to carve the pumpkin she picked out from her Pre-School Field trip. She asked for me to carve a C for her, and you can't see the marks, but she pretty much gored the rest of the pumpkin in the spirit of "carving" ..
I had to pick an easy pumpkin design this year. I am such a slow carver, and Lori is the fastest carver in the west! No matter what she chooses to carve she always finishes at least 20 minutes before me! Even though I picked an easy one!

Here is Loris Ghost that says "BOO" and Jacks "j" which is why Cassidy wanted a "C'.

I would say she is not my child, but Rod doesn't like vegetables. So it HAS to come from me.. Seriously?? Eating RAW pumpkin? She ate so much of my top, I finally had to cut her off because I was worried my lid wouldn't hold up!
Here's Jack, smiling as always!
AND the speedy Carver!!
And Sis, who pretty much likes to destroy what ever she can..
All in all it was a really fun night!

While the Cats away.. The Mice will play..

Researching Sires for Ashlie is a pain.. Rod mentioned he might want to keep one of Ash's pups this time.. So while he was hunting I happen to run across this darling little male schnauzer! He is a Phantom Black & Silver. He is SO mellow and sweet.. And I am very impressed with his conformation.
So basically this is our new baby.. (Well besides the 5 puppies Ashlie JUST HAD!) I figured I was not going to be getting sleep anyway, I might as well potty train another pup!

Because Rod and I NEVER make these kind of decisions with out consulting each other, I was completely prepared to resell him if, when he got home he didn't agree with my thinking.. Thankfully he was not mad, and I think he might even like Clancy??

Cassidy just adores him, and it has helped the new pups get a break from all of her 'help'.. He only really wags his tail for her.. It is cute. Ashlie thinks he is one of her pups, and has only growled at him when he gets too close to her kennel with her puppies in it.. He is very smart and I am really glad he joined our little family of now 10 Dogs! (For the moment).. Seriously.. What was I thinking??

Cassidy's New Best Buddy..

I found Cassidy going for a cruise with Clancy. He was all bundled up in a blankie and seat belted in. She was having a blast! It was Darling!
I heard Cassidy just giggling in my bedroom so I went to check on her and this is what I found! Check out the clip. I guess Clancy needs some exercises??

Everybody Loves Clancy!!

Jack has fallen in love with our new puppy! And I am sure our puppy has fallen for him!
Although Jack is the best when it comes to getting him to smile for pictures, occasionally he likes to pull funny faces or pull.. Gang signs?? Here he is with Cassidy copying him..

The following clip is of Clancy kissing Jack..

Pre-School Field Trip..

Today was Cassidy's field trip to the pumpkin patch! I volunteered to help with the kids and their pumpkins! Cassidy picked the most odd shaped, small pumpkin..
Here they are all in their school shirts, however it was SO cold that we HAD to wear coats!

Cole is helping his little brother Rhett carry the pumpkin he picked! Cole is such a sweet heart!

Trying to pick the perfect, small mis-shaped pumpkin takes a lot of work and concentration!

I tried to get Cassidy to hold her pumpkin and take a picture with her cousin Cole, but she wouldn't have anything to do with it! It is so hard to get pictures of her when she KNOWS you are taking a picture..

Here was the second attempt to get her to pose for us, as you can see she is refusing! Bribery wouldn't even work!

Introducing..

Even though they are not showing their personalities yet, we are beginning to see some really cute characteristics in the puppies.
Here is my sales pitch: Both Dam & Sire have excellent breeding, dispositions, conformation and come from Champion Bloodlines! They will be very small Mini Schnauzers full grown. Mini Schnauzers are not 'yappy' and they do not shed so they make great house pets! They are great with children and are tough little puppies!

They all come with FULL AKC registration (which means they will have full breeding rights).
All puppies will be going to their new homes with a puppy starter kit which includes: Training Pads, Blanket, Stuffed Toy, Food Supply, a Training Mini Schnauzer Book, Three Generation Pedigree, Photo Album since birth their first series of shots & vaccination records, up to date worming, dew claws removed, tails docked, microchip and a health certificate from a licensed vet, guaranteeing they are healthy & sound. We start potty training to the 'outside' as soon as the pups are walking, and we will start to kennel train any puppies older than 6 weeks. We are asking $1,000.00 for the females and $800.00 for the males. We require a $300.00 deposit to reserve the puppy of your choice until they are old enough to leave their mommy. But you are always welcome to come and visit!
"Bargs" is a Black Male with a medium size white mark on his chest. He also has a white 'goatee' which will probably fade as he matures but it is sure cute! He wouldn't hold still for pictures!
"Squirt" is a TINY black male. He has one small white dot on his chest and in between his toes which will also most likely fade as he matures. He is cuddly and quiet! (He is my favorite today..)

"Dewy" is a White Male. White is not a recognized color of AKC in the U.S. So he is registered AKC and if he were to be used as a sire, his puppies could be registered AKC without any problem, however he (white Schnauzers) cannot be shown in AKC dog shows. Dewy has the most darling ears I have yet to see on a pup. He was born with a pink nose and paws.. They are just starting to change to black.. which I also love because it reminds me of a baby polar bear.. To a smaller extent.. Dewy is Cassidy's favorite. She always asks to hold the "wipe one"..

"Fanta" is a Black & Silver female. She is a mamma's girl and doesn't seem to like me at all! I couldn't get her to hold still for pictures! She has beautiful markings and Black & Silver pups always grow up to be beautiful adults!

"Cherry" is Black with some white markings on her chest and in between her toes. She is smaller than Fanta but a little bit bigger than Squirt. She seems to have a sweet disposition and likes to snuggle up on my neck.

We strive to adhere to the breed standard for conformation, color, and temperament, and therefore, have selected our breeding dogs from healthy champion bloodlines. We provide a clean, fun, obedient environment with appropriate veterinary care for all of our Minis.
Our puppies are happy, healthy babies who are raised in our home with daily attention and we pride ourselves on maintaining the highest standards in breeding Mini Schnauzers. We offer a lot with our puppy not only to help their new family but to help the puppy adjust to his/her new home.
To reserve a puppy or ask any questions please call (801) 754-3633 or (801) 636-0805 L/M or e-mail j_carter_8@hotmail.com; References available upon request.

I will be updating their pictures weekly so if you are interested check them out! The video clip below is of Fanta crying for her mom while I was trying to take her picture. I love their little whine and their growls are absolutely hilarious! If you know anyone who may be interested in a pup please send them our way! I really spend alot of time with them and want to be sure they all go to good homes!

They're Here!!

Ashlie had 5 Puppies! We knew she was going to have alot becaue she was SO BIG!! She had 2 Black, 1 Black with white on his chest, 1 Black & Silver and 1 White one! I haven't completely 'inspected' them but as of now I am guessing we have three boys and two girls. Ash is exhausted! But like before she is a great mom and they were super clean births, which is awesome for me!!
Their daddy's name is Dr. Pepper, so I am going to name them after soda pop! If you think of any unique puppy names that have to do with soda, please let me know!
So far so good.. The first handful of days are really the scariest for me! Plus I get NO sleep! Any way, I will keep posting pics as they grow.. :)

Field Trip!!

Lori and I decided to take the kids on a 'field trip' to the Aquarium! My favorites were the Sea Horses and the Jelly Fish! They were just amazing to see and beautiful!
At least she is smiling??? Too bad her eyes were shut!
It was a fun afternoon!
Cassidy SAID the shark tank was her favorite part, however, she kept trying to get us back on the boat so she could pretend to drive us.. somewhere??
This is Lori, Cannon and Jack! They asked us not to use our flash inside so my pictures did not turn out so great..
Jack is always so good to smile for pictures! He is such a handsome young man! Cannon was such a good sport as well, he was tired but didn't complain at all!
Of course, no smile for my. uh, happy go lucky daughter.. :)
All in all it was a fun day and Cassidy has talked about it a lot since then!
