Preschool Graduation

Here she is all dressed up for the 'BIG' day! Posing for me, which she RARELY does!
Cassidy was lucky enough to get to go to preschool with one of her favorite cousins. Without him there I am afraid she would have never went!
This is Miss Stacey..
And this is Miss Candi.. They were Sis's favorite teachers.
This is her class, one of the few pictures of Sis you will EVER see with her arms folded! She insisted on bringing her purse. I let her bring it up on stage because it was one of the very few times she wanted to be girly!
AND the official Certificate! She has one more year of preschool, so she did not get to wear cap & gown, so we will get to fight that battle next year!
After graduation. we went to her favorite ice cream place and munched on homemade ice cream!
It was sure nice of Jerrilynn & Grandma & Grandpa Applegate to come and watch Sis in her program! If it wasn't for my mom I wouldn't have any pictures of her special day! Thanks Mom.. :)
Here they are the three musketeers! It will be fun to have Rhett go to preschool next year! Boy are those teachers in trouble!
It was a really fun day. Preschool has helped Sis come out of her shell a little and participate with other kids!

Carter's Easter Shindig!

Grandmas Carter sure puts on a production when it comes to the Easter egg hunt! It is more like a gather as many toys as you can! You can see most of the kids have a huge bag of plunder.
We all bring our dyed eggs and compete for the title of champion in egg bashing. Cassidy won last year, this year Kevin was the champion! Rod's sister caught Cassidy passing the time with her finger up her nose!
They roll the eggs towards each other on a stretch of carpet. It is pretty exciting for the kids!
Even with all of the fun and excitement of the Easter Bunny, Grandma sat all of the kids down and explained the true reason for our Easter Celebration. It was a really fun day!

Coloring Eggs!

We had alot of fun on Saturday Coloring Eggs with some friends! Ryann kept taking the eggs out of the dye with her hands! By the time we were done her hand was green!
It was a fun activity to kick off our Easter Holiday!

Working with Daddy!

This weekend was a busy one! We fertilized the pasture trying to beat the rain! Cassidy LOVES helping, no matter what it is she wants to be a part of it. Unless it has to do with cleaning her room..
If you look closely, you will see they have the exact same expression!
Although I miss the baby Sis, I love watching her grow and learn about life and I love watching her and her pop together!

Beware! Small Children and Animals..

As sis was leaving for School this morning, I noticed these two critters camping out in my neighbors tree! They are huge! When I first saw them I thought it was a golden eagle. The pictures do not do them justice! Always something new when living in the country!

Farewell To Thumper!

Thumper got her name from Thumper off of Bambi. When Rod bought her she was a scrawny 2 year old. Her ears are abnormally large compared to average mules. So as he tried to catch her (the never been touched by a human 2 year old) kicked him in the knee! So, with that and her ears we named her Thumper..
She is a sweetheart and loves attention! She has been with us since just before we got married, so I am really sad to see her go to her new home. She is going to Fountain Green, Utah. The couple that bought her seem really nice and I believe she will be well taken care of. I do not know if I am cut out for farm life. I love animals, letting them go is a different story!

Farewell To Earl!

Because we do not ride nearly as much as we use to, Rod decided to sell a couple of our pasture pals. Originally Rod bought Earl as an investment, train and sell. That was 5 years ago. His WIFE gets a little attached to these guys and they become part of our family.
Even though we love them, it was time to let them go. Earl went to Vernal, Utah. Rod especially liked him because he was so athletic and would go where ever Rod would point him! He was a tough one to get him to warm up to me, but he did finally.. And I will miss him! As does Cassidy, she keeps telling me he will come back from his new home.. Earl was her favorite.

St. Patty's Day!

Well, another 'birthday' has come and went! I didn't take any pictures this year on St. Patty's Day, but Cassidy and I did celebrate it by making green sugar cookies and bringing them to friends, eating clover rolls and drinking A LOT of green milk..
I love St. Patty's Day. It brings back a lot of good memories about people I consider family, you know who you are! I am probably the only one of us who loves St. Patty's because of it though!

It's a BOY!!

We have known for a month now that we were having a boy, I am just slow at posting the information.. He was such a squirmy little guy during the ultra sound it was hard to get a good profile picture of him. Watching the video below, it is evident that there is no question of the gender! Infact, if by some freak of nature we really do have a girl, the Ultra Sound Specialist said I HAVE to bring her by to show him, because he is SO sure it is a Boy..

Why won't it STAY warm??

This is a picture from my front porch. The Sandhill Cranes have returned, mother nature tricked them into thinking it was going to be warm so now they are hanging out in the snow! Mother Nature has tricked me too!

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

Cassidy calls them 'Goo Goo's' not Who's.. But she is a big fan! Today she got to bring her blankie and her favorite Goo Goo book. They decorated their Cat in the Hat, hats and ate green eggs & ham for a snack! It was a fun day at pre-school!

Happy Valentines Day!!

It has been a fun morning! Cassidy and I made pink heart pancakes! My sister in law gave me the idea, it is something she does with her family every year. But then so Cassidy could help, we cut the pancakes out into hearts with a cookie cutter! They turned out really cute and Cassidy thought it was the coolest thing ever!
She also enjoyed the pink milk, I only colored it with food coloring, but she thought it was strawberry milk.. So why buy strawberry flavoring?
This is her latest trick. One of her friends showed her how to do it so she likes to show it to me on a daily basis. She is pretty proud of it?? How would it be to be 3 and a 1/2 again?
Yesterday was her V-Day Party at her school. They decorated their bags and then passed out their Valentines. She had alot of fun filling them out! She would tell me which kid in her class a particular one was for, then she would 'write' their name (a scribble) and draw a heart. When she got home we went through the pile of valentines SEVERAL times reading them and who they were from.
Even though I am not a Valentine Day fan, I didn't want to be scrooge for her. We have had alot of fun this year can't wait until Daddy get home from work! Whats V-Day without your sweetheart?

Fun with the Cousins!

A few of Joyce's kids spent a couple of nights at our house the weekend she got married.
Here is Lyns and Jarron adventuring to the top of the hay pile in the barn.

Here is Cassidy showing off her 3 year old riding skills!

And Tyler & Rynn also enjoying Daisy's hospitality.

If it had been warmer outside I bet Lyns would have stayed riding all day! She had a smile ear to ear! It was really good to have them visit. It has been to long since I have spent that much time with them and It was a lot of fun!

Computer Issues..

I am just barely getting Christmas posted.. My internet has been having issues, so it was hard to update the blog.. Here is the short and sweet of it all! Happy New Year!

Christmas Day..

Grandma and Grandpa Carter always make a special trip out to visit us on Christmas! Grandma got to wear the hard hat!
Cassidy got a camera for Christmas. She took these pictures of us with it!
She is our aspiring photographer.. She asked me to pose with the lip gloss Santa brought her.
This is Sis and Rod posing for pictures Christmas Morning, 2008.

We hope everyone had an enjoyable holiday season and that this next year will be a good one!

Christmas Eve..

It took some bribery to get Cassidy to pose in her new Christmas Jammie's. We made cookies for Santa and read stories.. It was a wonderful night!

Making Gingerbread Houses!

Cassidy and I had a blast making this house! I guess the fun part is not only making it but then destroying it afterwards with your friend..
Jack and Cassidy sure enjoyed the demolition!

You should have seen my floor when they were done! They really turned it into dust!

Countdown to Christmas..

Cassidy made this cotton ball countdown in preschool! It was fun gluing on each cotton ball each day until Christmas was here!

Santa's Visit..

Last year Sis liked Santa, this year, you can see it was all he could do to stay in the picture by leaning in, while she was leaning out.. It is always fun to do traditions this time of year..
